On June 30th, 2007 I will be my completing
a Pediatric
Epilepsy Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, MN . During the
first year I had the honor of working with Dr. Jeffrey R.
Buchhalter. After his relocation to Phoenix, his former
colleagues of the division of Epilepsy and Pediatric Neurology have
teamed up to allow me to complete the fellowship successfully.
Although my initial desire was to return to San Francisco,
after careful thought , I have accepted to stay in the Midwest. I will
be taking a position at the Department of Neurology as an Instructor at
the Division of Pediatric Epilepsy here at Mayo in Rochester, MN
Although I will continue missing all of you, the bay area and its remarkable environment, I feel honored of having this opportunity which will allow me to continue serving children affected with Epilepsy . . In these days of faciltative communication, an E-mail, a fax
or a phone call are a short distance away and can be used to allow us
to continue communicating. Please don't hesitate to do so.
As long as the time allows me, I will be glad to attend your questions
and concerns, however it is important that the primary management of
any neurological concerns is managed and addressed by any of my
colleagues in the Bay area. I am very grateful to all of them for
having assumed the care and responsability of all of you as patients.
For any clinical matter, if there is a concern please
contact
first your primary pediatrician. If your child needs to be seen at
the emergency room please take him or
her to the UCSF emergency room where the Pediatric Neurology resident
and or fellow on
call will be able to provide help.
If you are need of a new appointment. you may be able to
contact
the Pediatric Neurology Clinic at UCSF. The team headed by Dr.
Ferreiro, Dr Hutchinson, and Gibbons et. al will be
able to continue providing attention to our concerns.
If you ever are in the need of an appointmet at Mayo, I will be glad to help. I want to express my immense gratitude to you for entrusting
the care of your children and relatives during my professional work in
the Bay area.
Sincerely, Luis E. Bello-Espinosa, MD I |
